Congratulation!! you got a job visa for some country and soon going abroad. Have you done the protector stamp process? It is a mandatory to fly abroad with a job or study visa. 

For some cases you are going abroad for higher studies in some university of Australia, USA etc. where you can do part time job as well then you may confirm the protector stamp is require or not.

Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment is the organization is perform this protector stamp process in Pakistan they have branch offices all over the country. 

The protector stamp can be done from different offices based on your location. Here we are going to explain the process of protector stamp Karachi Office. 

The protector stamp is same for other cities except the locations of offices and bank branches. Visit you nearest protector stamp office in Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, Rawalpindi or other protector offices or branches. 

Documents Require for protector stamp

• Passport with more than 6 month expiry
• CNIC original Self and any blood relative 
• NICOP (do not have NICOP? show me how can i get this)
• Company Offer Letter 
• Original  Visa or Visa copy
• 5 passport size photos
• Around 10 to 15 thousand Rupees

Visit protector office Karachi

The Protector Office Karachi is near by Nursery Lal-Khoti stop back side of KFC. The location and address can be found at the bottom of the page. Working timings are from 8 AM to 3 PM for submission of documents for protection stamp

Document SET (optional)

It is better to go directly to the photo-copier and ask him to make a set of your documents. He will copy all necessary documents and make a proper set of documents to process Protector stamp. Keep in mind this service is not free.  Alternatively you can make your own documents set yourself to process protector stamp.

NICOP

NICOP is mandatory for protector stamp hence get the NICOP first. To get the NICOP, visit the NADRA Office inside protector office Karachi, You have to show them the original passport and CNIC also CNIC of your Father /Mother / Brother / Wife.

 The officer from NADRA will  issue a token and later you may follow the normal process(photo, finger prints , data entry etc.)

Once all the process for NICOp has done , they will issue a printed Form you need to get attested from any 18 Grade Officer and re-submit to same NADRA Office. Once you re-submit they will issue a receipt, You can use this receipt copy for protector process.

The NICOP can be made from any NADRA branch do not forget, The original CNIC or your self and any blood relative or wife/husband is mandatory.

Remember different NICOP issued for different countries. e.g. if you have NICOP for Saudi Arabia and now you are going to Dubai then you need to cancel/submit old NICOP and issue new NICOP for Dubai.

the starting fee is 2500 and its different for different countries while the overall protector stamp fee is around 6000, the protector fee could be different for different countries.

The NICOP will be issue after 40 days incase you already left the country,  give an Authority letter to someone with original receipt.  They can collect NICOP by showing this receipt and his/her original CNIC and authority letter.

Now you already made a set (by photo copier after paying some money you also need a copy of NICOP slip so go to him again)


Go to the counter and show him all documents. In some cases they ask Air Line Ticket with OK TO BOARD STAMP other wise he will give you two vouchers which you need to pay in

Come we are going to National Bank Branch (the 2nd branch where you pay your challan)
stop take 4 copies of National Bank Challan and then go to the counter and pay 2500 or whatever amount written in that voucher

-Habib Bank Branch Near/Under Baloch colony bridge

Just opposite side (a little bit right) of that National Bank you will see Habib Bank Branch go there and out side window and pay the second voucher (which you get from protector office)

Now go inside the bank and ask the reception for Protector Fee, he/she will give you a voucher take that voucher get the TOKEN from machine fill that voucher and pay it when you see you Token No.

Back to Visa Protector Office

Now come back to photo copier guy and ask him that you paid your vouchers he will give you 3/4 Forms fill and and give it to him.

Next , step is to submit it with State Life Insurance office (next to NADRA WINDOW)

and other documents will be submit to VISA section window (back side of NADRA Office)

After these documents submission for protector stamp is almost ready. Wait  for 2/3 hours then check the first floor office where they will return back the passport with protector stamp on last page. 

This protector stamp will be check by immigration officers in airports. Any person going abroad on work visa without this stamp, most of cases, immigration officers would not allow to fly

Overseas Pakistani Card
Another lady/guy will come related to OVERSEAS PAKISTANI CARD, they would ask some passport size photos copy of your CNIC or NICOP and PROTECTOR Stamped copy.

Fill the form provided by them and submit it back with the documents they will issue a card after 2/3 months. or you are not there some one can collect on behalf of you after showing the SLIP once they call him/her as you provided his/her Contact No inside the Form.

Validity of Protector stamp

As per the officer from protector stamp office, The protector stamp is valid unless the sponsor of visa is not changed. In other word it is valid by employer, in case the job changed or company changed the protector stamp needs to be revised. But if this process done without visiting Pakistan then no need to repeat this protector stamp process.

What is protector stamp on passport?

It is an embossed stamp on the passport page, signs by Protector of Emigrant officer for those who got job and job visa in abroad and flying from Pakistan. For the first time it is a required process. the immigration officers check the protector stamp.

Is NICOP necessary for protector Stamp?

Yes, the NICOP is mandatory to process and apply protector stamp. According to NADRA ordinance 2000. Incase NICOP is not available you may apply NICOP and use the receipt tp process protector stamp.

Is protector require for family visa?

The protector stamp is required only for employment visa. As the family members will stay there based on your sponsorship hence it is not required for them.

What is the fee for protector stamp

The initial fee for protector stamp is 2500 Pakistani rupees. Based on different countries the fee will be different. beside this fee the applicant needs to pay welfare fee, insurance fee as well. The insurance is valid for one year only provided by state life insurance. You may renew it or not for next year it is optional.  

Is protector stamp one time process

Technically it is not one time process, in case of change of job in same country or other country, the protector stamp process needs to be perform again, If you return back to Pakistan. 

Many people change the job and work permit or work visa in same country without coming back to Pakistan, In this scenario  same stamp could be use. There is no clear guide lines from the
